Products Description
This is a gated breech (also called a dividing breech with valves). That means each of the two outlets has its own valve. You can open one, open both, or open neither. You can shut off one line to move it while the other keeps flowing. That flexibility is why gated breeches are the standard on fire trucks.
You see these on fire trucks, at hydrants, and on fire boats. A fire pump produces a massive volume of water. But one hose can only carry so much. The 2-way breech splits that big flow into two hoses. Now you have two attack lines instead of one. You can attack the fire from two directions, or send water to two different nozzles.

Where Do You Use a 2 Way Dividing Breech?
- On a fire truck pump panel. The pump has a large outlet – usually 2.5 inch or 3 inch. The breech connects here. Then two 1.5-inch or 2.5-inch attack hoses go out. The driver can control the flow to each hose independently with the valves.
- At a fire hydrant. A hydrant has one or two large outlets. You connect a breech. Now you can run two hoses to two different pumpers or two different attack lines.
- On a fire boat. Marine pumps have high flow rates. The breech splits the flow to multiple fire monitors or hose lines on the deck.
- For relay pumping. When pumping water over a long distance, you use large hoses. At the end of the relay, you connect a breech to split the water into multiple attack lines.
- For standpipe systems. In a high-rise building, the standpipe has a 2.5-inch outlet on each floor. You connect a breech to run two 1.5-inch hoses for interior firefighting.
- Industrial fire brigades. The breech is a standard part of the equipment. It allows the team to maximize the use of their water supply.
