Hanging Type FM200 Fire Suppression Device

The Suspended FM200 Fire Suppression Unit is exactly what the name says – a compact FM200 system that hangs above whatever you want to protect. No cylinder room. No pipe network running through your walls. No complicated design work. Just a canister of FM200 with a valve and a nozzle, mounted on a bracket, hanging from the ceiling or inside a cabinet.

People also call this a hanging unit, a ceiling-mounted system, or an overhead FM200 device. All the same thing.

This is not for large data halls or big industrial buildings. This is for small, enclosed spaces – electrical cabinets, generator control panels, telecommunication cabinets, small server enclosures, battery rooms, cable trenches, CNC machine electrical compartments, and small storage rooms.

If you have a space that's too small for a cabinet system and too tight for pipes, this hanging unit is probably the answer.

How Does It Work?

Electromagnetic Start Version

You mount the unit above your equipment. You connect the solenoid wires to a small fire panel. You install one or two detectors in the same enclosure.

A fire starts. Heat or smoke reaches the detector. The detector signals the panel. The panel starts a short delay (optional), then sends an electrical current to the solenoid. The solenoid opens. The valve opens. FM200 discharges directly into the enclosure. The fire goes out.

A pressure switch on the valve sends a signal back to the panel – "system has discharged." The panel can then sound an alarm, shut down equipment, or send a notification to a monitoring station.

Temperature Sensing (Thermal Bulb) Version

You mount the unit. That's almost all you do. No wires. No panel. No detectors.

A fire starts. Heat builds up inside the enclosure. When the temperature reaches the glass bulb's rating, the liquid inside expands, the glass shatters, and a mechanical pin opens the valve. FM200 discharges. Fire goes out.

That's it. No electricity means nothing can fail except the bulb itself. This is the simplest possible fire suppression system
