The Piped FM200 Fire Suppression System is a fixed pipe network system that delivers FM200 gas through a network of pipes and nozzles into a protected room. FM200 is the brand name for HFC-227ea. It's been around for decades. It's safe for occupied spaces, safe for electronics, and it doesn't damage servers, circuit boards, or documents.

If you have a data center, a telecom room, a control room, a server farm, a museum archive, or a medical imaging suite – this is what you use. You don't use water there. Water destroys what you're trying to protect. FM200 doesn't.

Q&A

Pipeline type vs. cabinet type – which one do I need?
Pipeline type has cylinders in a separate room and pipes running to the protected area. Cabinet type has cylinders inside the protected room. Use pipeline for medium to large rooms (data halls, control rooms, power plants). Use cabinet for small rooms like server closets.

How does the pneumatic actuation device work?
It's the trigger on top of the valve. The fire panel sends a signal, the device fires, and the valve opens. For multiple cylinders, only one needs to be electric – the rest open by gas pressure from the first cylinder. Simple and reliable.

Is FM200 safe for people?
Yes at the designed concentration (typically 7-9%). It does not dangerously displace oxygen like CO2 does. But you still need to evacuate the room before discharge – that's why systems have a delay and warning alarms.
