• Flanges. Carbon steel. Galvanized. The coating protects against rust. They bolt to your pipe flanges. Standard bolt patterns. PN10 or PN16 pressure rating.
• Bellows. 304 stainless steel. Corrugated – the accordion shape. This is the flexible part. It absorbs movement. 304 stainless resists corrosion. Good for water and foam service.
• Limit tie rods. Threaded steel rods. One end bolts to the left flange. The other end bolts to the right flange. They limit the expansion range. They also take the pressure thrust – the force that tries to pull the flanges apart when internal pressure pushes on the bellows.
• Internal sleeve. Some models have a sleeve inside the bellows. The sleeve guides the flow. It also protects the bellows from abrasion – debris in the water won't rub against the corrugations.
• Surface finish. Red painted or stainless steel natural color. Red is standard for fire equipment. Stainless is for corrosive environments.

• Fire fighting foam pipelines. Foam systems run long distances. The pipes expand when hot foam solution flows through. The compensator absorbs the expansion.
• Fire water pipelines. Same thing. Water pipes expand and contract. Compensators prevent stress.
• Refineries. Process pipes run hot. They vibrate from pumps and compressors. Compensators absorb both.
• Chemical plants. Aggressive fluids. 304 stainless bellows handle many chemicals. The galvanized flanges resist corrosion.
• Pump rooms. The pump vibrates. The pipe vibrates. A compensator between the pump and the pipe isolates the vibration. The rest of the system stays quiet.
• Long pipe runs. Any pipe over 30-40 meters needs expansion compensation. Metal expands about 1mm per meter per 100°C temperature change. A 50-meter pipe heating up 50°C grows about 25mm. That's an inch. Without a compensator, that inch of movement goes into the flanges and welds. Something cracks.
• Building connections. Where the pipe enters a building, the building moves. The ground settles. A compensator absorbs the differential movement.
