Common Problems and Fixes
Problem – Reducing valve won't hold steady pressure. It bounces up and down.
Fix – The valve is hunting. Too big for the flow rate. Or the pilot is dirty. Clean the pilot. If that doesn't help, install a smaller valve.
Problem – Reducing valve lets too much pressure through.
Fix – The diaphragm is torn or the pilot is stuck. Replace the diaphragm. Clean the pilot.
Problem – Reducing valve won't let enough pressure through.
Fix – The strainer is clogged. Clean it. Also check the pilot line strainer.
