The foam-water sprinklers discharge foam from overhead sprinklers then discharge water—similar to standard spray sprinklers.
This model has a unique venturi-style body that allows foam to form and release as effectively as possible. As the foam solution (a water-and-foam concentrate) flows through the inlet, air is drawn into the body of the unit.
The foam solution mixed with air is agitated to create an air-aspirated foam. Then, the foam is released in a predetermined discharge pattern.

The PQA Series is a step up from the standard PQ nozzle. Same basic idea – a handheld foam nozzle that pulls in air and throws wet foam onto a fire. But with better materials and a cleaner design.
The "A" stands for something. Aluminum, maybe. Or advanced. Doesn't really matter. What matters is that the PQA series uses an aluminum body, stainless steel nozzle and handle, and aluminum alloy couplings. Lighter than brass. Won't rust. Looks professional.
Three sizes: PQA4, PQA8, PQA16. Same flow naming as the PQ series – 4, 8, and 16 liters per second. 240, 480, and 960 liters per minute.
These are not cheap disposable nozzles. These are tools that live on fire trucks, at loading racks, and on helipads for years. They get dropped. They get dragged across concrete. They sit in salt air. They still need to work. The PQA series is built for that.

How to Use a PQA Foam Nozzle
- Before the fire:
Connect the coupling to your foam-rated fire hose. Make sure the coupling is tight.
Have foam solution available (water with foam concentrate already mixed, or a proportioner upstream).
Check the nozzle – no debris in the air holes, no damage to the stainless nozzle.
- When the fire starts:
Open the valve on your hose or pump. Foam solution flows.
Hold the nozzle with two hands. One on the stainless handle, one supporting the hose near the coupling.
Aim at a solid surface near the fire – the ground, a wall, the side of a tank. Bounce the foam onto the burning liquid.
If you can't bounce it, aim at the edge of the fire. Sweep the nozzle back and forth. Let the foam flow across the fuel surface.
Don't blast the center of the fire. That splashes burning fuel.
- After the fire:
Shut off the flow.
Rinse the nozzle with fresh water. Inside and out. Foam residue dries and clogs the air holes.
Store the nozzle where it won't get damaged or stolen.

Q&A
Q1: My foam is thin and watery. What's wrong?
Not enough air is getting into the nozzle. The air holes are probably clogged with dried foam residue. Clean them with a small brush, a toothpick, or compressed air. After cleaning, rinse the nozzle with fresh water.
Q2: My foam is dry and fluffy, not wet and heavy. What's wrong?
Too much air or too much water pressure. Check your pump pressure – it should be 0.7 MPa (7 bar / 100 PSI), not higher. If the pressure is too high, the foam expands too much and gets dry. Reduce the pressure and try again.
Q3: No foam comes out at all – just liquid. What's happening?
Two possibilities. First, the air holes are completely blocked – clean them. Second, your foam solution has no foam concentrate in it – just water. Check your proportioner or foam tank. No concentrate means no foam, no matter how good the nozzle is.
