Pre-Action Valve

Pre-Action Valve

Pre-action automatic sprinkler system – pre-action valve, control device, air pressure maintainer, air supply, pipe network, closed sprinklers. Water stays out until fire is confirmed.

Fujian Haijing Fire Fighting Equipment Co., Ltd. is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of pre-action valve in China, also supports customized service. Please feel free to wholesale cheap pre-action valve from our factory.

Products Description

Pre-action Alarm Valve Device
Pre-action Alarm Valve
Pre-action automatic sprinkler systems are usually composed of pre-action devices (pre-action alarm valves,
control devices, air pressure maintaining devices, air supply devices, etc.), transmission systems, pipe
networks, closed sprinklers, water source control valves, and signal valves.

How Is It Different from Other Valves?

Wet pipe system – standard alarm check valve. Water is always in the pipes. Sprinkler opens, water comes out immediately. Fastest response. But if a pipe breaks, you get a flood. Not for sensitive areas.

Dry pipe system – dry pipe valve. Pipes are filled with compressed air. Sprinkler opens, air rushes out, water follows. Slower than wet system. Good for unheated spaces where pipes might freeze.

Deluge system – deluge valve. Pipes have open nozzles. Valve holds water back. Detector opens the valve, water comes out of all nozzles at once. Floods the whole area.

Pre-action system – pre-action valve. Pipes are filled with air (or dry). Sprinklers are closed. Detector opens the pre-action valve. Water fills the pipes but stops at the closed sprinklers. Then, if the fire heats a sprinkler head, that sprinkler opens and water comes out – only where the fire is.

The pre-action valve is the most cautious. It requires two independent events – detection and heat – before water touches the protected area.

Why Choose Our Pre-action Valve?

  • Two interlock options – Single or double. Configured at the factory. You choose.
  • Ductile iron body – Stronger than gray iron. Won't crack.
  • Complete trim – Pressure gauges, test valve, drip valve, low pressure switch – all installed.
  • Solenoid valve included – DC24V. Standard voltage.
  • Air maintenance device – Matched to the valve. Pre-set at the factory.
  • We answer questions – Pre-action systems are complex. Need help designing or troubleshooting? Email or WhatsApp us. Real people reply.

FAQ

Q1: What is the difference between a pre-action valve and a deluge valve?

A deluge valve holds water back from open nozzles. When it opens, all nozzles discharge at once. A pre-action valve holds water back from closed sprinklers. When it opens, water fills the pipes but doesn't discharge until a sprinkler head opens from heat. Pre-action is two-step.

Q2: Where should I use a pre-action system?

Anywhere accidental water discharge would be a disaster – data centers, museums, libraries, archives, cold storage rooms, and computer rooms. The pipes are dry (or air-filled) until a fire is confirmed. No flood from broken pipes or damaged sprinklers.

Q3: What's the difference between single interlock and double interlock?

Single interlock: the detection system alone opens the valve. Water fills the pipes, then sprinklers open from heat. Faster but less safe. Double interlock: both detection AND a drop in air pressure are required to open the valve. Slower but safer – water won't fill the pipes unless a sprinkler actually opens or the pipe breaks.
